USE OF NALA NAME AND LOGO(s)

1355050 Alberta Ltd ("Company," "NALA," "we," "our," or "us") maintains strict protections over it's trademarks, certifications, accreditations, branding assets, and associated materials. These protections exist to preserve the integrity, credibility, and legal standing of the Company and its programs. 

Unauthorized use of NALA intellectual property is prohibited. 

 

NALA NAME AND TRADEMARKS

The name National Association of Lash Artists (NALA) is a protected business identifier used exclusively by the Company.

NALA's logos, seals, badges, accreditation marks, standards, accreditation requirements, membership applications, and associated branding elements are trademarked and protected under applicable intellectual property and unfair competition laws. 

The term NALA Academy Accreditation © is a trademarked designation. 

 

NALA OFFICIAL LOGO

 No individual, business, academy, educator, or third party is permitted to use the official NALA company logo.

This logo is NALA's trademarked logo and may only be used by NALA itself unless explicit written authorization is granted by the Company.  

 

 

Unauthorized use includes, but is not limited to:

  • Websites
  • Social media profiles or posts
  • Marketing materials
  • Course materials
  • Certificates or badges
  • AI-generated content incorporating or imitating the logo

 

DISCONTINUED NALA CERTIFIED EDUCATOR BADGE

The NALA Certified Educator Badge (logo) has been officially discontinued and revoked.

Although this badge was originally granted to individuals who completed the NALA School for Lash Trainers, now known as NALA's Educator Comprehension Course (ECC), authorization to use this logo was fully revoked in 2018. 

No individual or business may display, reproduce, or reference this badge in any capacity.

 

PROHIBITED TITLES AND REPRESENTATION

No individual, educator,  or business may use the titles:

  • NALA Certified Educator
  • NALA Educator

Or any other confusingly similar wording, implying association between themselves or their courses/programs and NALA.

USE OF THE NALA NAME IN COURSES AND PROGRAMS

Any individual or business wishing to associated the NALA name with their courses, academies, workshops, or educational materials must first have those materials formally review and approved by NALA. 

Use of the NALA name requires:

  • Successful completion of NALA's Educator Comprehension Course 
  • Formal approval and issuance of NALA Academy Accreditation ©
  • Ongoing compliance and annual renewal (including re-submission and renewal payment) to maintain active status

Unauthorized association with the NALA name is strictly prohibited. 

 

NALA ACADEMY ACCREDITATION © AND OFFICIAL SEAL OF ACCREDITATION

The Company allows the use of the Official Seal of Accreditation ONLY to individuals, business, or academies who:

  • Have officially earned NALA Academy Accreditation ©,
  • Maintain active status through annual renewal,
  • and have received an email from info@nala-lashassociation.com containing their official certificate of Accreditation and the official Seal of Accreditation for their use. 

All officially accredited academies are listed on the NALA Global Directory: https://www.nala-lashassociation.com/global-directory

Any academy not holding an active certificate of accreditation and not listed in the directory does not hold active Accreditation status and may not represent themselves as NALA Accredited. 

If you are unsure whether or not an academy is officially NALA Accredited, please email info@nala-lashassociation.com before enrolling. 

Use of the NALA Seal of Accreditation does not mean that an academy, educator, or business is:

  • Owned by the Company
  • Operated by the Company
  • Managed, supervised, or controlled by NALA
  • An agent, partner, joint venture, or employee of NALA

Accreditation solely indicates that the academy's specific course(s) submitted for review have been:

  • Evaluated by NALA's team
  • Assessed against NALA's accreditation requirements
  • Approved as meeting the educational standards as developed and maintained by the NALA Board of Advisors

NALA does not oversee day-to-day operations, business decisions, financial transactions, employment decisions, or student outcomes of accredited academies. 

 

NALA ACCREDITED MEMBER BADGE

The Company allows the use of the Official NALA Accredited Member Badge ONLY to individual lash artists who:

  • Have officially earned NALA Lash Artist Accreditation Status (NALA Membership),
  • Maintain active status through annual renewal,
  • and have received an email from info@nala-lashassociation.com containing their official certificate of membership and the official Member Badge for their use. 

Use of the Accredited Member Badge indicates that the individual has:

  • Met NALA's accreditation criteria at the time of review, and
  • Demonstrated alignment with professional standards established by the NALA Board of Advisors. 

Use of the NALA Accredited Member Badge does not mean that the individual is:

  • Employed by NALA
  • Operated, supervised, or managed by NALA
  • Acting as agent, representative, or contractor of NALA
  • Endorsed for business performance, service delivery, or outcomes

Each accredited artist operates as independent service provider. 

 

NO ENDORSEMENT OR GUARANTEE

Accreditation:

  • Is not a guarantee of business performance, student success, income, or results.
  • Does not constitute endorsement of products or claims beyond the approved course scope.
  • Applies only to the accredited course(s) and not to unrelated services, trainings, or offerings provided by the academy.

Any representation suggesting broader approval, partnership, or operational involvement by NALA is strictly prohibited. 

 

RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY

Each accredited academy remains: 

  • Independently owned and operated
  • Fully responsible for compliance with local, provincial/state, and federal laws
  • Solely responsible for student agreements, instruction quality, claims, marketing, and outcomes

The Company disclaims any liability arising from:

  • Acts or omissions of accredited academies
  • Instructor conduct
  • Student disputes
  • Use or misuse of the Seal of Accreditation

Misuse, misrepresentation, or implication of ownership or control by the Company may result in immediate suspension or revocation of accreditation products and status, in addition to legal enforcement. 

 

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) USE AND RESTRICTIONS

I. AI-Generated Content and NALA Intellectual Property

NALA intellectual property may not be used in connection with artificial intelligence tools, including but not limited to:

  • AI logo generators
  • Image generators
  • Text generation tools
  • Branding or design software with AI functionality 

This includes:

  • Uploading NALA logos, seals, badges, or branding into AI systems
  • Training AI models on NALA content
  • Generating derivative or "inspired" assets that resemble NALA branding

Any AI-generated output that incorporates, imitates, or derives from NALA intellectual property is considered unauthorized use. 

II. AI Use In Education, Marketing, and Representations

If AI tools are used by accredited academies or members in educational or marketing contexts:

  • AI-generated content must not misrepresent NALA's involvement, endorsement, or approval
  • AI tools may not be used to fabricate accreditation status, credentials, testimonials, or outcomes
  • AI-generated content remains the responsibility of the user, not NALA

NALA assumes no liability for inaccuracies, misrepresentations, or claims produced through AI tools by third parties. 

III. Data, Privacy, and AI Systems

NALA does not authorize:

  • The collection, scraping, or ingestion of NALA content into AI training datasets
  • The use of NALA materials in machine learning models without express written permission

Any such activity may constitute copyright infringement, trademark misuse, and data misuse under global AI regulations. 

 

UNAUTHORIZED CLAIMS OF ACCREDITATION AND USE OF NALA LOGO(S)

Any academy, educator, business, or individual that displays NALA Logo(s), claims to be "NALA Accredited," or implies association with NALA without holding active accreditation status is doing so without authorization.

The Company:

  • Does not authorize or endorse such representations
  • Does not monitor or control all third-party claims made online or offline
  • Assumes no responsibility or legal liability for unauthorized or false claims of accreditation

If an academy or individual lash artist falsely claims NALA Accreditation:

  • They are acting independently and without consent
  • Their actions do not bind the Company in any legal, contractual ,or consumer context
  • NALA bears no responsibility for student outcomes, losses, disputes, or damages arising from such claims

Any reliance by students or consumers on authorized representations is made at their own discretion, and NALA disclaims liability for:

  • Misrepresentation
  • Fraudulent or misleading marketing
  • Consumer reliance or financial loss
  • Educational harm or dissatisfaction

Unauthorized use of the NALA name, Seal of Accreditation, logos, or accreditation claims may result in:

  • Immediate cease and desist actions
  • Public clarification or takedown requests
  • Legal enforcement under trademark, unfair competition, and consumer protection laws

 

ENFORCEMENT AND LEGAL ACTION

Misuse of NALA's logos, seals, badges, accreditation marks, standards, accreditation requirements, membership applications, and associated branding elements will result in legal action, including but not limited to:

  • Revocation of accreditation or membership products and status
  • Cease and desist notices
  • Legal claims under trademark, copyright, unfair competition, and consumer protection laws

MODIFICATIONS TO THIS POLICY

The Company may update or revise this Policy at any time. Updates take effect immediately upon posting.
